about

I wrote this in 2000 around the time my first son was born. I was in therapy, dealing with depression and anxiety, and realized that I was not becoming the person I wanted to be. I had lost touch, lost focus, and got wrapped up in trying to be a "normal" adult. I wanted to reconnect with the ideals and dreams of my youth (how strangely I missed you).

lyrics

Lit the match.
Burned the bridge.
My eyes are red and tired from staring at the fire.

The fever finally broke.
Much to my surprise,
After years of silence,
I woke to realize ...
How strangely I missed you.

Touched a nerve.
Broke the code.
I'm not the same.
Somehow no one knows.

The fever finally broke.
Much to my surprise,
After years of silence,
I woke to realize ...
How strangely I missed you.
