about

Glen Murrant Nova Scotia

Strongly influenced by progressive and techno artists of the 1970's and 80s, Glen worked in record stores, music shops, and studios for a few years before studying jazz piano at St.F.X. University. Half way into a music degree, Glen realized he hated jazz, and shifted focus his to English literature and philosophy. The result: rich, unique, sophisticated, and meticulously crafted music. ... more

Track Name: Lost Myself
[VERSE 1]
Knew a man.
He'd seen too much in Sudan.
Fell out of touch.
Head in hands, can't understand,
"I lost myself. God, I think I need some help"

[CHORUS]
Was a time I knew my name
A time I was my father's son
When I belonged and I was whole
knew it deep down in my soul
Was a time when I believed
in something more, in destiny
If only I could find myself again
If only I could find myself again

[VERSE 2]
Helplessly felt it unfold
A piece of me turned to stone
I lost myself, I lost myself
Now everything is rapidly
unravelling

[REPEAT CHORUS]

who do you want to be?
open your eyes.

[REPEAT CHORUS]
Track Name: July Afternoon
In a big wooden church
In a small steel town
on the edge of the sea
Dressed in a gown
and pressed in a suit
for all eyes to see
An occasion of hope
the opening scene
of life-long play
I've made up my mind
No question this time
forever I'll stay

Say you'll marry me, say you will
I'll move mountains to hold you
I'll be yours 'til the end of time
Feel my love all around you

July afternoon
She's white as the moon
on the lakes of Bras d'Or
I've taken a bride
She's here by my side
I can't want for more
It's taken some time
some laughin' some cryin'
but now I am sure
I look in your eyes
I give you my heart
I give you my soul

Say you'll marry me, say you will
I'll move mountains to hold you
I'll be yours 'til the end of time
Feel my love all around you

In some ancient language
lost and long extinct
in songs of whales
hidden in hieroglyphs, I think
there is a word - love
wrapped up in math and the missing link
there is a word - love

Say you'll marry me, say you will
I'll move mountains to hold you
I'll be yours 'til the end of time
Feel my love all around you
